Botswana coach Stan Tshosane says the three points off Ethiopia is a lifeline they must fully utilize against Bafana Bafana.
FIFA on July 1 docked three points off Ethiopia for using an eligible player in their 2014 World Cup Group A qualifier away against The Zebras' on June 8 at Lobaste.
Ethiopia won that match 2-1 to stay top of Group A but are now two points behind second positioned Bafana on 10 points and eight points respectively following FIFAs ruling heading into Septembers final round of Group A qualifiers.
Third placed Botswana are now a point behind Bafana on seven points following the ruling ahead of their visit to Bafana on September 7.
"Its not going to be easy," Tshosane told MTNFootball.com.
"It will be do or die. I know it will be tough, but we have to fightand see what happens."
The two sides first leg meeting on June 9, 2012 in Gaborone ended 1-1.
However, Tshosane admitted that Ethiopia still dictated the direction of Group A ahead of their final match away to bottom placed Central Africa Republic that same September weekend.
"I had wanted us to keep working hard until the end of the campaign. I had hoped we would beat Ethiopia but here it is," Tshosane said.
"Now it has happened the way I had wanted and it means we need to beat South Africa and see what happens in CAR."
