Botswana senior national team coach Peter Butler has called no less than 20 players from the Botswana Premier League with BDF XI players dominating the squad.

Mascom Top 8 defending champions, BDF XI, saw seven of their players making it into Butler’s team. Veteran Mokgathi Mokgathi, Kabelo Seakanyeng, Thato Ogopotse, Pelontle Lerole, Mosha Gaolaolwe, Bonolo Phuduhudu and Othusitse Mpharitlhe all made the cut.

Defending league champions, Township Rollers, have four players in the squad. They are Mwampule Masule, Segolame Boy, Leutlwetse Tshireletso and Obonye Moswate. Key defender Oscar Ncenga who has been a regular in Butler’s squad is still out injured.

Meanwhile Topo Piet from Extension Gunners made the grade after being dropped for some time now.

The biggest winners are Notwane’s young defender, Gogontle Marumo, and Richard Legwaila of Nico United. Although the latter got injured in his last cup game for his club, he will be happy to have been noticed by the national team selectors.

Youthful Gaborone United goalkeeper Goitseone Phoko has also made it to the squad as well as his teammate Kgololo Kgogobi whose form has improved in the league of late.

The Zebras will be up against Tunisia on Friday evening at the national stadium. The BFA has since advised the supporters to buy their tickets well before the game.
