Township Rollers defender Simisani Mathumo was pleased to have scored twice against Gilport Lions on Tuesday.
The central defender grabbed a brace as Rollers maintained their 100 percent win rate in the 2017/18 Botswana Premier League (BPL) season.
Rollers thrashed a hapless Lions side 3-0 at the National Stadium in Gaborone and they made it seven league victories in a row. Segolame Boy had opened the scoring for Rollers.
Botswana senior national team captain Mathumo told Rollers' official website that he was happy that Popa managed to get another win.
“In the first half we got an early goal, but later in the first half we were allowing Gilport to play, it seemed as if we were relaxing, and playing as individuals," Mathumo said.
"In the second half, we started playing more as a team and that benefited us because we were able to get the goals that killed the match as a contest.
"I am happy to get two goals, but what matters the most is that we won once more. I think only we ourselves can disturb our own progress this season," he added.
"As long as we work hard and stay organised and focused I believe we will be able to achieve our objectives," he concluded.
Unbeaten Rollers are placed at the top of the league standings with 21 points from seven matches.
