Township Rollers assistant coach Mogomotsi 'Teenage' Mpote reflected on the team’s victory over Botswana Defence Force (BDF) XI.
Rollers secured a 2-0 win over BDF XI in a Mascom Top 8 Cup quarter-final first-leg match at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Botswana internationals Jerome Ramatlhakwana and Lemponye Tshireletso netted for Rollers, who were the visitors.
Mpote told Rollers’ official website that the technical team led by Serbian trainer Nikola Kavazovic exploited conditions in the BDF XI backline in the second half.
"BDF started the match using a 4-2-3-1 system but switched to 3-5-2 as the first half continued,” Mpote said.
“At half time we decided to have our wide midfielders push more into attack to exploit the gaps left by BDF using three defenders, and we were able to pin them back, win the second ball, and get the goals we needed.
“All the players did well, we still have the second leg, but with two away goals, we have put ourselves in a good position.”
The second-leg match will be played at the National Stadium on the 10th of December 2017.
