Gaborone United secretary general City Senne has explained the importance of the Gaborone Derby.
GU are set to host their Gaborone rivals Township Rollers in a highly anticipated BTC Premiership match at the University of Botswana (UB) Stadium on Sunday.
Senne, who is a former GU defender, says the team will look to in-form midfielders Obonwe Maome and Dirang Moloi.
"Both GU and Rollers fans were passionate about it,” Senne said on BotswanaFootball.
“It meant a lot to them during our time. At GU, managers like Mr Willy Seboni and David Mophuting would always remind you about this game.
Rollers are sitting at the top of the league standings, while GU are placed fourth on the log.
“They tell you it's a must win game. Rollers had great players like Thabo Motang, Stan Molelekwa and others,” he continued.
“As players we were always ready to die for our supporters. I hope Sunday will bring us something to cheer about.
“Rollers are a good side. But I like the understanding between Dirang Moloi and Obonwe Maome,” he added.
“The whole team look energised and we could have scored more goals last night," he concluded.
Kick-off is at 15h45 CAT.
