As Zimbabwean Premier League side Highlanders are currently searching for a new coach, the club has been linked with former boss Madinda Ndlovu, who recently parted ways with Botswana Premier League (BPL) side Orapa United.

Ndlovu and Amini Soma-Phiri are vying for the coaching position at Bosso as the club seeks to replace Errol Akbay with immediate effect.

Although Ndlovu has also been linked with a similar position in the Botswana Premier League with Extension Gunners, he may be tempted to go back home.

Highlanders have made it clear they want one of their former players to take over the coaching job and Ndlovu seems to be the perfect choice.

“We are still in the process. I am sure after next week, we will be done with the selection,” said club secretary Nhlanhla Dube.

“We want to do it (appointment of the coach) before the pre-season starts because this is the time when players move.”

Reports suggest that the club bosses recently engaged the former Township Rollers manager during a legends match between Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Zimbabwe legends last month.
