Orapa United have announced Zimbabwean tactician Bongani Mafu as their new head coach replacing his countryman Madinda Ndlovu.
The Ostriches also revealed that Motswana trainer Daniel Nare, who has been serving as the club’s caretaker coach, will be Mafu’s assistant.
Mafu was in charge of Mochudi Centre Chiefs during the 2016/17 campaign, before parting ways with the Botswana Premier League (BPL) giants at the end of the season.
The 2015/16 Mascom Top 8 Cup champions made the announcement on Thursday.
A club statement read: “Orapa United Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Bongani Mafu as the Team Head Coach.
“Mafu has signed a two-year contract which is resuming today. The coach will also be officially introduced to the players on the 5/01/2018.
“Bongani Mafu will be joined by Daniel Nare, Bayani Tiger Mbulawa as Assistants and Themba Mmui as Goalkeeper coach.
“The ostriches is yet again to give farewell wishes to the wonderful Otsile Koolese who was part of the technical team for the past seasons. Our family together with the residents of the Boteti district is very proud of his deeds and input in this team for the past.
“We are confident that the assembled technical team will maintain high standard of achievement that is in the team and we ask all to join us welcome them to Orapa United Football Club and wish them success.”
