FC Notwane are surging closer to their BTC Premiership return as they bagged a 2-0 win over Mogoditshane Fighters in the Debswana First Division last weekend.
Notwane are now a single point behind the top two teams and assistant coach Kakale Mabechu expressed confidence about their chances of toppling those teams.
For the Fighters, the defeat left them level on 29 points with Prisons XI, but the Warders went on top with a superior goal difference.
Speaking after the match, Fighters’ coach Kelebogile Kgannyeng said they played well, but failing to convert their chances remains a concern.
“We played well but failed to take our chances while our opponents took theirs. Our problem was lack of concentration as we allowed them to score towards the end of both halves,” said Kgannyeng.
“But we will go back to the drawing board and bounce back.”
On the other hand, Mabechu said Toronto’s plan was to score first in the match and consolidate their lead as they fight to return to the top flight.
