With CAF club competitions having kicked off this weekend, Botswana was represented by two top sides in the Champions League and Confederation Cup.

Township Rollers were at home on Saturday as they hosted Sudan’s El-Merreikh in their CAF Champions League preliminary stage match.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Jwaneng Galaxy are the representatives and were on the road to Mozambique.

The BTC Premiership giants( (Rollers) cruised to a 3-0 win at home and will now want to wrap up the proceedings away next weekend.

Goals courtesy of Mosha Gaoalolwe, Edwin Moalosi and Segolame Boy handed coach Nikola Kavazovic’s men a comfortable win.

Looking at Galaxy, they were unlucky to lose 1-0 to the Costa Do Sol of Mozambique on the same day.

It was a fairly balanced game, but the hosts used a chance they got while Galaxy could not capitalise on a host of opportunities.

However, they will want to bounce back next weekend at home as they fight for a spot in the next stage of the competition in an aim to book a spot in the group stages.
