Lady luck smiled at Extetnsion Gunners, says Mmipi

Extension Gunners midfielder Ofentse Mmipi says luck was on their side as they defeated Mochudi Centre Chiefs on Sunday.

Mapantsola beat Magosi 3-1 in a big BTC Premiership match encounter which took place at the University of Botswana (UB) Stadium in Gaborone.

Desire Bafana, Mmoloki Kebalepile and Ofentse Mmipi all scored for Gunners, while Tshepo Borake netted Chiefs’ consolation goal.

The victory took Gunners to sixth place on the league standings, while Chiefs remained 14th on the table.

Speaking to the media after the game, Mmipi stated that the team connected well against struggling Magosi on the day.

“At least luck was on our side today. We connected short passes and scored,” the former Botswana Defence Force (BDF) XI player said.

Mmipi has been one of Gunners’ best players in the BTC Premiership this season having scored eight goals in the completition.

He’s four goals behind the league’s top goalscorer, Tumisang Orebonye of Gaborone United.
