Having netted a hat-trick against Township Rollers on Monday, BDF XI’s Tanzanian striker Rashid Mandawa says he is settling down well in Botswana.
The explosive striker was speaking to reporters after the match where he talked about the CAF Champions League as well as his target in the BTC Premiership.
Popa will meet Tanzania’s Young Africans in a two-legged CAF Champions League first round match next month and Mandawa says the two teams are both big.
Mandawa has all three goals in their 3-1 win against the log leaders in the opening half to secure a vital win for Matebele.
“I am enjoying myself in Botswana, it is like playing at home and banging in goals for BDF is good,” said Mandawa.
“Yanga are a big team like Rollers, they will have to be good against Yanga (in the CAF Champions League).
“I am playing very well, because I work hard in training. I want to take the top goalscorer award in Botswana and it is possible.”
The forward has taken his tally to 10 goals in the race for the top goalscorer award, trailing leader and Popa's Thatayaone Kgamanyane by four goals.
Resulting from that win, Matebele now sit at the fifth spot with 32 points from 20 league games so far.
