A two-goal haul for Gaborone United last weekend moved Thatayaone Kgamanyane on to 14 BTC Premiership goals for the season.

The left-winger's brace inspired GU to a 3-1 victory over Gilport Lions in a league game which was played at the Molepolole Sports Complex.

Kgamanyane is now two goals above his GU team-mate Tumisang Orebonye, who is placed second on the scoring charts with 12 goals.

Three attackers are joint-third having all scored 10 goals this season.

They are Miscellaneous attacker Orebotse Mongae, Botswana Defence Force (BDF) XI forward Rashid Mandawa and Police XI striker Mara Moloi.

Moemedi Moatlhaping of Sharps Shooting Stars is also in the race for the BTC Premiership Green Boot with nine goals.

It remains to be seen whether Kgamanyane can maintain his lead at the top of the scoring charts and go on to win his maiden Green Boot award.
