Gaborone United secretary general, Gofamodimo 'City' Senne believes that the club should be run by its former players.
The retired defender was speaking after Boitumelo Nsunge was unveiled as GU's new chairman on Wednesday.
Senne told the media that Nsunge was not new to the club as he has played for GU before and also served as an additional member of the executive committee.
"We are trying to bring former players to try and help us run the club," Senne said.
"We have realised that nowadays everything in football is being politicized. Football should be the winner," the former GU star added.
"We are currently sailing on muddy waters so we hope bringing people like Nsunge can help us."
GU are placed sixth on the BTC Premiership standings having accumulated 29 points from 19 games.
