According to the Botswana Premier League Chief Executive Officer Thabo Ntshinogang, the Mascom Top 8 Final was a success.
Ntshinogang was speaking after the league organised one of the most memorable finals in the history of Botswana football.
Two BPL giants, Orapa United and Township Rollers, battled it out for the coveted crown, but Popa walked away as victors last weekend at Francistown Sports Complex.
A packed Francistown witnessed a fantastic final which was a six goal thriller as Rollers won 4-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Lemponye Tshireletso, Edwin Moalosi, Bogosi Nfila and Kaone Van der Westhuizen all found the back of the net for Nikola Kavazovic’s men as they were 4-0 ahead within 65 minutes.
However, United fought back and netted through Omaatla Kebatho and Gift Moyo, but the late strikes were no more than consolation for the Ostriches.
The BPL boss also thanked the tournament sponsors, Mascom and all the stakeholders including the supporters of the beautiful game.
"Our Mascom Top 8 final was successfully done. The crowd was good even though there were other events on the same day,” said the CEO.
"We thank our sponsor and all stakeholders involved.”
