Botswana Premier League (BPL) giants Gaborone United have confirmed that they will take part in this year’s Kabelano Charity Cup.
The season-opening tournament which is a one-day event is usually decided by invitation or by public vote.
The Charity Cup was last held in 2015 and it took place at the National Stadium in Gaborone.
Township Rollers won the tournament after defeating their rivals Mochudi Centre Chiefs 3-2 in the final.
On Monday, GU released the following statement:
“Good Afternoon The Reds. This serves to inform you that the team will participate in the Kabelano Charity Cup. More details will follow,” a club statement read.
Moya Goleele are wounded at the moment having suffered a 1-0 defeat to TAFIC in a BTC Premiership match over the weekend.
Kawashu Makai scored the only goal of the match at the Molepolole Sports Complex.
