Gilport Lions’ relegation woes increased when they suffered a heavy defeat against Orapa United over the weekend.

Obonye Moswate, Jerome Ramatlhakwana and Maswena (brace) all scored as the Ostriches thumped Lions 4-0 at the Itekeng Stadium on Friday.

As a result, Lions remained 16th on the league standings with eight points from 20 games. They are four points behind 15th-placed Uniao Flamengo Santos.

They are also 13 points behind 12th-placed Mochudi Centre Chiefs. The bottom-three teams will be relegated to the Debswana First Division at the end of the current campaign.

Lions need to start winning their games if they are to survive relegation from the top flight league.
