Mochudi Centre Chiefs communications manager Clifford Mogomotsi has lauded Gilport Lions following their BTC Premiership clash.

Magosi edged out Lions in a five-goal thriller which took place at the National Stadium in Gaborone on Sunday afternoon.

Lesego Lubinda, Thatayaone Ramatlapeng and Pako Moloi all scored for Chiefs, who emerged 3-2 winners on the day.

While Kago Keotlogele and Moshe Mokgethi both netted for relegation-threatened Lions, who remained at the bottom of the BTC Premiership standings.

"You should give credit to Gilport Lions,” Mogomotsi told local media.

“They fought and we suffered. They fight and do have young players, who are very good.

“(Ex-Centre Chiefs star) Elvis Meleka gives them experience. They will hurt other teams.”

Chiefs’ win over Lions took them to 10th place on the league standings.
