Township Rollers were frustrated by a resilient Sharps Shooting Stars side in a BTC Premiership encounter on Thursday.

The Blues were hoping to maintain their lead at the top of the league standings when they hosted Sharps at the National Stadium.

While Sharps were eager to cement their place in the top eight with a surprise win over a much-fancied Rollers side.

The score was 2-1 to Rollers at half-time after Segolame Boy had grabbed a first-half brace, while Moemedi Moatlhaping pulled one back for Sharps from the penalty spot.

Lemponye Tshireletso made it 3-1 to the Blues just after the hour-mark beating Sharps’ experienced goalkeeper Raphael Nthwane to extend the hosts’ lead.

However, the visitors were awarded two late penalties which were converted by former Rollers striker Moatlhaping.

The experienced forward beat Rollers goalkeeper Keagile Kgosipula twice from the penalty spot to make it 3-3 for Sharps.

The action-packed encounter ended in a 3-3 stalemate on the night. As a result, Rollers remained at the top of the league table three points above second-place Jwaneng Galaxy.

Sharps also remained seventh on the league table - a point behind sixth-placed Botswana Defence Force (BDF) XI.
