Uniao Flamengo Santos eased their relegation woes with a victory over Gaborone United at the Lobatse Sports Complex on Friday night.
Santos and GU went into this encounter placed 15th and fifth respectively on the BTC Premiership standings.
The deadlock was broken by Issac Masoko, who hit the back of the net to make it 1-0 to Santos just before the half-time break.
It was soon 2-0 to Santos after the hosts were awarded a penalty on the stroke of half-time.
Odirile Kgaodi stepped up and converted from the spot-kick to double the hosts’ lead, and the score was 2-0 to Santos at the interval.
GU were able to pull one back through Kabelo Seakanyeng in the last 20 minutes of the game - making it 2-1 for the visitors.
Santos were able to contain GU in the closing stages of the game and ultimately, they emerged 2-1 winners on the night.
Despite the win, Santos remained 15th on the league standings, while GU also remained fifth on the table.
