Prisons XI secured promotion back to the Botswana Premier League (BPL) despite losing to Sua Flamengoes over the weekend.
Flamengoes and Prisons clashed in the 2017/18 BPL Promotional Play-off after finishing second in the Debswana First Division North, and South leagues respectively.
Nicknamed the Warders, Prisons edged out Flamengoes 2-1 in the first-leg clash with Mukuye Shakambayo and Kelello Kgosimore scoring two crucial away goals over a week ago.
Lovemore Murirwa netted Flamengoes’ goal in an encounter which was played at the Sua Stadium in Sowa.
Flamengoes managed to avenge their defeat as they beat Prisons 1-0 in the second-leg clash with Monametsi Tsapoga scoring the only goal of the match at the SGG Stadium in Gaborone on Saturday.
However, it was Prisons, who gained promotion to the elite league after winning the tie on the away goals rule following a 2-2 stalemate on aggregate.
The Warders are under the guidance of Motswana tactician Philip Makhwengwe and they will be campaigning in the BPL during the 2018/19 season.
They were relegated to the First Division South at the end of the 2012/13 BPL season.
