Township Rollers successfully defended their Botswana Premier League (BPL) title after defeating Extension Gunners on Wednesday night.

The Blues, who were sitting at the top of the BTC Premiership standings, went into this encounter needing a victory to secure the title with second-placed Jwaneng Galaxy set to face Mochudi Centre Chiefs on the same night.

Rollers recorded a 2-0 win over their local rivals Mapantsola with Kaone Van Westhuizen and Segolame Boy scoring at the National Stadium Stadium.

At the University of Botswana (UB) Stadium, Galaxy were held to a goalless stalemate by a stubborn Chiefs side.

As a result, Rollers finished at the top of the league standings with 66 points - four above second-placed Galaxy.

The Blues won the most coveted trophy in Botswana, BPL title, for the third time in a row. They have also clinch it for a record 15th time.
