Botswana Premier League (BPL) side Orapa United have announced the appointment of Mogomotsi Mpote as their new assistant coach.

The Motswana tactician recently parted ways with Township Rollers, who won the double during the recent 2017/18 campaign.

The Blues clinched the BTC Premiership and Mascom Top 8 Cup with Mpote serving as Serbian coach Nikola Kavazovic’s assistant.

Prior to Kavazovic’s arrival, Mpote had guided Rollers to the 2016/17 BTC Premiership title. But he was replaced by Kavazovic ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

The Ostriches released the following statement indicating that Mpote will serve as Zimbabwean coach Bongani Mafu’s assistant at the Orapa-based club:

A club statement read: “Assistant Coach Confirmation.”

“We are pleased to announce that Mr Mogomotsi Mpote has joined Orapa United fc as an Assistant coach for a period of 2 years.”

“Former Township Rollers man will join the team as we report back on the 25th June 2018 for 208/19 season preparations.”
