Following their 3-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in a friendly, Township Rollers skipper Maano Ditshupo said they learnt a lot from the Brazilians.
The Popa skipper said despite the loss in an encounter that was staged in the North West province in South Africa last Sunday, they will be ready for their next CAF Champions League clash.
Nikola Kavazovic’s men are preparing for a match against Egypt’s Al Ahly and the skipper said the Sundowns game has helped to measure themselves ahead of the meeting against the Red Devils away in Cairo on July 17.
Ditshupo faced a star-studded Sundowns midfield comprising of Oupa Manyisa, Andile Jali and Hlompho Kekana and praised the Absa Premiership champions.
“These are very good players who have achieved a lot in their domestic football and in the continent, some of them have even played in European professional leagues,” said the skipper to the club’s website.
“We matched them for most of the match and we will be able to learn from the mistakes we committed.
“The exposure of testing yourself against top players who have gone all the way in the Champions League will benefit us as we try to establish Rollers in the continent.
“Our immediate focus is the upcoming Champions League match against Al Ahly in Egypt in the middle of July.
“Since we returned to camp, we have been working on our fitness and tactics and the team is working around the instructions of the coach.”
The Blues skipper, who has spent six seasons with the Botswana Premier League champions recently signed a new three-year contract.
