Botswana under-17 head coach Itumeleng Duicker is pleased with his side's preparations for the upcoming 2018 U17 COSAFA Championships.
The Diamond Zebras are set to take on Swaziland this weekend in a friendly match as they prepare for the regional tournament which will be hosted by Mauritius later this month.
The Botswana Football Association released the following statement:
"Botswana’s Under 17 coach Itumeleng Duiker says his Under-17 Boys are responding well to tactics so far. The former Zebras skipper who is also the Head Coach for Premier League Giants Extension"
"Gunners says his technical team spent most of the weekend Camps working on the physical conditioning and tactical awareness of the Diamond Zebras."
"Tumi, as he is commonly called, highlighted that in the next few days the boys will be okay as the team prepares to take on the rest of the region at the COSAFA Championships built for Mauritius from 18-19 July."
"Dicker and his Technical team are currently in the camp with 25 players, who will be reduce to a 20-man squad on the 10th July 2018 ahead of their departure to Mauritius.
"The coach plans to play local teams as part of a preparation, before facing the Kingdom of Eswatini in a practice-friendly on the 7th and 8th July 2018 at the Lekidi Football Centre."
"Botswana has been drawn alongside host Mauritius, Namibia and Seychelles. The Diamond Zebras will play the host on the 19th July followed by an encounters against Seychelles and Namibia to complete the group stages on the 21st and 24 July respectively. The winner of the group advances to the semi-finals," a BFA statement read.
