Al Ahly seek first Group A win against Township Rollers

Al Ahly will take on Township Rollers in the 2018 CAF Champions League Group A match at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Egypt on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 21h00 CAT.

The Red Devils suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to Ugandan side KCCA FC in their last Group A game which took place in Uganda last May.

As a result, Al Ahly are placed fourth on the Group A table with one point from two matches having drawn 1-1 with Tunisian giants Esperance de Tunisia in May 2018.

The Egyptian champions are three points behind group leaders Esperance de Tunis, who are undefeated in the group stage.

Al Ahly head coach Patrice Carteron is keen to win his first competitive match in charge of the Red Devils.

Ahmed Fathi and Sherif Ekramy are veterans in the Al Ahly squad and they will be hoping to use their experience to help the team win their first game in Group A.

Meanwhile, Rollers succumbed to a 4-1 defeat to Tunisian giants Esperance in an encounter which took place in Tunisia in May 2018.

As a result, the Blues are placed second on the Group A table with three points from two games having defeated KCCA 1-0 at home last May.

The Botswana champions are a point behind the leaders with four games left.

Rollers head coach Nikola Kavazovic will be eager to guide his side to their second win in the group stage.

Segolame Boy and Lemponye Tshireletso are dangerous attackers in the Rollers team and they will be looking to help their team record a famous win over Al Ahly.

Algerian match referee Mustapha Ghorbal will officiate the game between Al Ahly and Rollers.
