Botswana Premiership giants Jwaneng Galaxy have signed Uganda’s Alfred Leku as he expressed delight after completing his move.
Leku completed his switch to Botswana on Monday after convincing the technical team during a week-long trial.
Although the BPL side announced that he signed a two-year deal, the financial details of the whole deal remain under wraps owing to contractual clauses signed by the two parties.
“I am happy to have signed for Galaxy Football Club. I am ready to contribute meaningfully to the club’s prosperity” Leku confessed to Kawowo.
Leku played his football in the Ugandan Premier League for two clubs, both on loan from Vipers Sports Club.
In his first stint, he turned out for the native Onduparaka Football Club before switching allegiance to Express FC where he netted four goals.
Moreover, his agent Pike Okello praised his client, saying he is happy he has signed for Galaxy and wished him the best of luck.
“I am happy that Alfred Leku has been signed by Galaxy Football Club. The supporters and technical team love his power, aggressiveness and speed. He is a great addition to the club. We wish him the very best,” said Okello.
Meanwhile, Leku becomes the third Ugandan player to join the Botswana top flight after Ivan Ntege and Francis Olaki who play for Township Rollers and Extension Gunners respectively.
